ABSTRACT
Twenty-eight patients received intravenous iron-dextran (TDI) for correction of iron deficiency anemia. One experienced a systemic reaction but recovered without untoward effects, another developed uterine contraction and both of this case were not included in this studiesThe rise in hemoglobin and hematocrit were noted after two weeks and was rapid over a period of six weeks. No delayed reactions were seen in all the casesWe believe that, although not without danger, the use of Iron-Dextran Infusion (TDI) by the method and techniques described should find a useful place in correction of severe iron deficiency anemia.
